Karl Marx - Fetishism of Commodities

Yeah it's Monopoly.  BUT it's WALKING DEAD MONOPOLY!!!!
The truth is I spent way too much and waited way too long to buy a Monopoly board online that is Walking Dead themed.  I can't even imagine how many cents this game took to create overseas but it cost me over forty bucks here in America.  This is what Karl Marx was referring to in his fetishism of commodities theory. This occurs when the exchange value and the actual commodity become detached.  The objects take on an importance or reality all their own, away from the actual value of the goods produced.  Therefore, this collectors item Monopoly game becomes more expensive as it's fantastical reality is desired.  The capitalists exploit the the consumer by making these type of objects dominate over us.  The true exchange value is lost and the consumer pays much more for the desired to the point of worshiped object.
